ABOUT BOTB
Battle of the Bands has proved to be an increasingly popular music event over the years and as a result of this it's now attracting more and more interested by new bands and local music fans. The event was put together to give local bands an opportunity to break into the local music scene and in some cases progress even further in the music world. This event also gives new bands the opportunity to perform to a large crowd on a professional stage with a state of the art sound and light system.
Along with the opportunities and experiences comes the competition side of the event, which will give the bands a chance to win more than £2000 worth of prizes. The prizes include equipment vouchers from Dans Music (www.dansmusicshop.com) and 2 days recording at Dans in house 32 track digital studio, along with a top recording engineer.
Past winners of this event include the first ever winners Rawkus, who won way back in 1997. The new millennium saw the 2001 winners The Asleep, who went on to wow the local music scene and also appear on a compilation CD with signed bands. 2002 saw One Step Earnest claim the crown and then in 2003 it was the turn of the highly talented Lynchburg Tenn , who won the competition with their own songs, which were heavily influenced by such bands as Led Zeppelin and The Stooges. And the 2004 winners are……………………????
