Band Profile - Kunk

KUNK are an alternative rock four piece hailing from the Norfolk/Suffolk border. In early 2002 Wayne and James Davey started writing and recording songs at home on an 8 track for fun. Receiving excellent feedback and gaining numerous fans from places like Australia , Romania , Finland and the USA as well as back home in the UK .
In July 2004, KUNK released a 7 track EP entitled ‘Pros Minus Cons’ and by the end of the month it had already received airplay on BBC Radio 1 after legendary DJ John Peel played ‘Public Image Ltd.’ On his show. KUNK then followed this up by playing many local gigs, including their first gig at the Waterfront in Norwich , a slot on the mainstage at Halesworth’s Gig in the Park and performing two songs at the 2004 Pan Awards show, picking up the award for ‘Most Wanted Band’.
KUNK have been compared to Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Sonic Youth, and Seafood with their personal influences varying between The Pixies, The Clash, Kurt Cobain and The Beatles. More info at www.kunk.co.uk
